How RBV is Helping Michigan Small Businesses

We are proud to be a small business in the state of Michigan, and we are even prouder to announce that Jim Foucher, Vice President of RBV Contracting, was recently named as one of the Small Business Association of Michigan Board of Directors. As a member of the Board of Directors, Jim will act as a voice for those in the construction industry in the state of Michigan, and will also speak to issues that small business owners are facing in the Detroit area.

Jim’s dedication to RBV over the years, and his contributions towards the continued growth of the company, have not gone unnoticed. His passion for the construction industry, bettering Metro Detroit, and engaging new talent in the industry workforce, make him a valuable asset not only to RBV, but to an organization like the Small Business Association of Michigan. Jim also currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Detroit Post.

The Small Business Association of Michigan (SBAM) is the only statewide and state-based association that focuses solely on serving the needs of Michigan’s small business community. The organization has been serving small businesses, like RBV Contracting, in all 83 counties of Michigan since 1969. The SBAM team is dedicated to advocating for small business, bringing business owners together to share knowledge, creating collaboration and partnerships, and delivering group buying power.

Our team became involved with SBAM in early 2017 after our good friend Sue Tellier, Vice President of Michigan-based JetCo Solutions and member of SBAM’s Board of Directors, shared with us the value that the organization provides to small business owners. The opportunity to connect with, and learn from, other small business owners across the state was something that really interested us.

2017 was also the year that we were named one of Michigan Celebrates Small Business’ 50 Companies to Watch and won their Government Contracting Award. With our company being recognized statewide, and understanding that our hard work was making an impact far beyond the Detroit Area, we knew it was time to explore a deeper involvement with an organization like the Small Business Association of Michigan. We understand the importance of advocating for the rights of small business owners, and we felt that it was time that RBV be a part of the bigger statewide conversation.

Our team at RBV is extremely grateful for the work that SBAM does in creating a voice for small business owners throughout the state. With more than 26,000 members, there are representatives from a wide variety of different industries and backgrounds. We have made many strategic connections and built relationships with great new business allies, and friends, since joining SBAM.

We understand how difficult it can be to run a small business, and we are so proud of how far RBV has come over the years. We have no plans to slow down any time soon, and it is with the help of organizations like SBAM that small businesses like ours can flourish and contribute to the economy in the great state of Michigan.

We are so honored to have someone from our team sitting on the board of directors for such an impactful organization. Congratulations, Jim!
